Week 9: One Transfer Down!
Not a ton to report this week. The big news is that Sister Anderson left on Saturday to go spend a couple of days in Palmyra (the town where Joseph Smith lived when he first saw God the Father and Jesus Christ in vision, and where he was led to the Golden Plates). Palmyra is only a short distance from the mission boundaries, and missionaries who are headed home are given a chance to go spend a couple of days exploring this important historical site. Becca and Sister Anderson parted on good terms and had a good last week together.
Meanwhile, Becca was paired up with another missionary whose companion was also headed home, and it just happened to be Sister Swallow, who was Becca's MTC companion! They get to work together for a few days while they wait for their new companions to be transferred in on Wednesday. It sounds like they are so happy to be together, because they both had a difficult first 6-weeks. Sister Swallow's companion was the opposite of Becca's--worked hard and never relaxed, making missionary work a drudgery instead of a joy. I'm glad these two get to decompress with each other for a few days. :)

Hello!
This week was the last week of this transfer and my last week with Sister Anderson. It was pretty good! We did a lot of service this week, a ton! But it was fun. Our investigator Mary moved into her new house so we are helping her unpack and get her house organized. I love spending time with her!
So we were going to have a baptism this week, but it feel through. Garnet had to work so much this week and we weren't able to get all the preliminary stuff done. So he will be baptized at a later date, but he's still super excited!
Sister Anderson left last night, and my new companion won't be here until Wednesday afternoon. So for these three days Sister Swallow is my companion!! We're so excited!! We were comps in the MTC and work really well together. It's going to be a party! A working party, of course. ;)
My new companion will be Sister Rawlinson. I don't know her yet, but I'm sure she's wonderful. I'll send pictures next week!
My favorite thing that I studied about this week was King Limhi in the book of Mosiah in the Book of Mormon. King Limhi was the son of a wicked king (Noah) over the land of Lehi-Nephi. Limhi's story is amazing. His father was wicked and even murdered a prophet of God, but Limhi saw how bad that was and so he worked hard to be a righteous king. He recognized the power and work of God, and also recognized the Lord's servants, the missionaries. He learned from them and was baptized along with all of his people in the land. He even became a powerful minister himself. His faith in Christ gave him strength and joy. He was a pretty great person!
Happy Memorial Day! I hope you all have a wonderful, safe holiday while we celebrate the freedom we enjoy because of the amazing sacrifices of our brothers and sisters. And enjoy the beginning of summer!

Oh yeah, we totally went to the zoo last week and it was awesome! Here's a flattering pic (not) of my companion and me. ;)
