Week 3: Safely in Syracuse!
So, there's no group email to post this week. Sister Fairbanks was busy traveling all day Tuesday. She had to check out of the MTC at **4:45 AM** in order to get from Provo to Salt Lake International Airport for her 9:30 flight. Missionaries are allowed to call home on the day they travel from the MTC to the area of the world where they will be serving, so we got to talk to our sweetie for about 20 minutes Tuesday morning!! Did this momma's heart good to hear her voice. She is doing wonderfully! I couldn't sleep the night before, because I was so excited to talk to her!
We received an email that evening from the New York Utica Mission office to let us know that she had arrived safely and would be staying with all (or some?) of the other greenies (new arrivals) at the mission home that night. The next day she was assigned to serve in Syracuse with a new companion, who will be her trainer. Becca did send me an email early Wednesday morning, but it was just personal stuff, so I'll only post pics this week. The first is Becca with President and Sister Rogers; the second picture is all the new arrivals with the Rogerses (yes, that's the proper way to pluralize that name!); the third picture is Becca with her new companion.
For those who are emailing her, her p-day (preparation day, which is a day for doing laundry, checking email, and stuff like that) will be Monday. If you want her address, just let me know! If you want to be added to her group email list, feel free to ask :).
