Week 29: Bracing for Winter

She sounds so good!  Not much to add from her email to me--just that she got the winter gear I sent her. 😊 It's time to brace for that average accumulation of 10 FEET of wet, New England snow. BRRRRRR!!! ⛄

Good Morning! 

It's been a beautiful, crazy week! We had a couple of days that were gorgeous and felt like summer. Then it dropped 20° and it feels like fall, haha. For real this time. It was about 45 the other day, but with wind and rain it felt like 30. Yikes. I might die this winter. ;) We say, "It's so cold!" and all the New Yorkers laugh. Hehe. I guess we can't say it's cold until our car doors are frozen shut. 

We did a lot of walking and met some great people this week. My favorite part of this week was zone conference! We met in Utica with our 30 closest missionaries and President Vest. He gave some great training and it was very spiritually uplifting conference. At one point he talked about the Bible story of Jesus walking on the water and Peter coming to Him. Some people give Peter a bad rap because he started to sink when he started to doubt. But President Vest pointed out that he was the only one that got out of the boat. We had a really good discussion about it and talked about what we can learn from that story. The most obvious is that we need to have faith in Christ. Also trust in Him because He will always be there to catch us when we do fall. For me I realized that sometimes the Lord asks us to do things that we've never done before. That's scary. But we can't let the fear of failing stop us from even trying to follow Him. We just need to get out of the boat and try! Chirst will make up the rest. 

Oh! Then on Saturday we went to see Chris and he taught us how to butterfly and grill lobster tails. It was delicious! He also grilled us a yummy steak while we visited. It was a lot of fun and we definitely get fed well!
