Week 51: Old news, but still good.

This blog post is two weeks late, due to the slow, painful death of my desktop computer.  After finally confirming that there was some sort of hardware failure (likely the hard drive, though it sneakily passed every test), I had to bite the bullet and by a new computer.  Note to self: create a savings envelope for a new computer, and save a little every month, so that next time there will be money already set aside for such a large purchase... 😑

Anyway, Becca's email from two weeks ago was as cheery as ever.  They had just learned that she will get to stay with Sister Hamblin for the final 6 weeks of Sister Hamblin's mission.  I'm so glad!  This will make it Sister Fairbanks's longest companionship so far, which is surprising, considering the fact that she was with Sister Larsen for so long.  Here are some silly pics for your entertainment. 😊

Here is the group email:

Good Morning!

This week was transfers, but we both stayed in Canton! I'm excited to stay with Sister Hamblin. She will be going home at the end if this six weeks. So I get to send her off. :)

We have had an awesome week! It went by super fast, and my weeks keep getting faster. Oh, probably because I hit my one year mark this week! AH! It's pretty cool actually. :) I love being a missionary.

We had a really great lesson with Bonnie on Thursday. We taught her the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She remembered some of it from the hints that we have given her in the first two lessons. We had her reader a chapter of the Book of Mormon last week. When we asked her what she thought or what she learned she said, "I thought that it was going to be a 'fear God - scary' kind of chapter. But I learned that God loves me. I realized that there is a place for me in His plan and that's a questions I've had for a long time." ❤ Then when we asked her if she has been praying to know if the Book of Mormon. She said, "I have, but I've really just been praying in thankfulness to God for bringing me this book. He has already answered my prayers." WOO! Bonnie is amazing! It's so exciting to see her coming closer to Christ so quickly. It amazing.

I hope you all have a great week!
Sister Fairbanks
